On November 27, local time, the China-Egypt Teda Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone (Teda Cooperation Zone) successfully held a symposium for enterprises entering the zone in the conference room of the Investment Service Center. The meeting focused on key topics such as an interpretation of Egypt’s new labor law and the procedures for obtaining work visas for foreign employees. Attending the meeting were Mr. Abdulrahman and Ms. Ghada, representatives from the Investment Customer Service Department of the Suez Canal Economic Zone Authority (SCZONE); He Jun, Director of the Egyptian Chinese Business Law Firm; Cao Hui, Executive Director of the Egypt Teda Special Economic Zone Development Company; Wei Na, Assistant to the Executive Director; heads of various departments including the Park Operations Department, Human Resources Department, and Marketing & Promotion Department; as well as representatives from more than 50 enterprises that have already entered the zone.
In her opening remarks, Cao Hui provided a detailed introduction to the background of the symposium, its core issues, and the participating organizations. She emphasized that the purpose of this meeting is to precisely address both the common needs and specific challenges faced by enterprises in areas such as labor management and visa processing, thereby helping companies strengthen their foundation for compliant operations.
Subsequently, the head of the Park’s Marketing and Promotion Department systematically reviewed relevant reports from Egypt’s major media outlets, summarized and presented the overall inspection findings by the Ministry of Labor. The head of the Human Resources Department, in light of the Ministry of Labor’s key inspection priorities for the next phase, provided an in-depth interpretation of Egypt’s newly promulgated labor laws, helping enterprises accurately grasp policy trends and effectively mitigate operational risks.
During the experience-sharing session, Ma Bowen, representative from Egypt Giant Stone Company, shared mature practices and practical experiences in human resource management, providing valuable references for the participating enterprises. Representatives from resident companies—including Sailun Tire, Xinlinfei, Xinxing Cast Pipe, Binhua, Boda New Energy, Deli Glass, Midea Egypt, Caidie Textile, Fanyang Textile, Yanjiang Egypt, and Fengshang Egypt—actively spoke on hot topics such as labor rights protection and visa procedures for Chinese personnel, engaging in in-depth exchanges about the challenges and pain points encountered in their daily operations. In response to the enterprises’ concerns, a representative from the SCZone Investment Customer Service Department provided on-site guidance on the procedures for obtaining work permits in the special zone. He Jun, director of the Egyptian Chinese Lawyers Office, then offered a detailed explanation of the work visa application process and answered questions raised by the companies one by one, creating a lively and enthusiastic atmosphere at the event.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Cao Hui expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the long-term support provided by all participating organizations and the active engagement of representatives from companies located in the zone. He pointed out that this symposium was not only a forum for information exchange but also a pragmatic initiative through which the park and enterprises could jointly address challenges and drive development. Moving forward, Egypt Teda will continue to play its role as a bridge and link, establishing a more efficient and open communication platform to promptly convey policy updates and provide more targeted support services. He emphasized that the park’s development is inseparable from the growth of its enterprises, and Teda will always stand shoulder to shoulder with businesses, continuously optimizing the business environment and promoting the comprehensive enhancement of both the park’s management and service systems.
