On November 9, the inaugural China-Egypt Investment Forum, co-hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Egypt, the Egyptian General Authority for Investment and Free Zones, and the Egyptian Businessmen Association, was held in Cairo, the capital of Egypt. Egyptian Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan Khattab, Chinese Vice Minister of Commerce Ling Ji, and Chinese Ambassador to Egypt Liao Liqiang attended the event and delivered speeches. The forum drew participation from more than 200 Chinese and Egyptian enterprises.
As a key Chinese enterprise, Teda Industrial Group Party Secretary and General Manager Teng Fei was invited to attend the event and participated in the roundtable dialogue on the theme "Introduction to Egypt's Investment Policies." He engaged in an in-depth exchange with the Chairman of the Egyptian Authority for Investment and Free Zones, the Chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone Authority, and representatives from Chinese-funded enterprises operating in Egypt, focusing on topics such as deepening production capacity cooperation and jointly advancing the high-quality Belt and Road Initiative.
In his speech, Teng Fei shared TEDA Industrial Group's extensive experience in industrial park development and operations, with a particular focus on highlighting the achievements of the China-Egypt TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone (TEDA Cooperation Zone). He noted that the zone has now expanded to cover an area exceeding 10 square kilometers, attracting cumulative investments surpassing US$3 billion and hosting approximately 200 enterprises—directly creating over 10,000 jobs. The zone has firmly established itself as a vital platform for bilateral capacity cooperation between the two countries. Additionally, Teng Fei offered constructive insights and recommendations aimed at further optimizing Egypt's investment environment, emphasizing the importance of enhancing policy continuity and improving cross-border service infrastructure.
Looking ahead, Teng Fei stated that TEDA Industrial Group will seize the historic opportunity presented by the alignment of the Belt and Road Initiative with Egypt’s “Vision 2030,” using this forum as a catalyst to further expand cooperation in areas such as advanced manufacturing, new energy, and the digital economy. The Group will fully leverage its expertise in park development, industrial attraction, and cross-border services, encouraging more Chinese enterprises to invest and establish businesses in Egypt, thereby continuously injecting fresh momentum into the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Egypt.
