At the regular press conference held on September 3, Ministry of Commerce spokesperson Huang Ling stated that on September 2, President Xi Jinping held talks with President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, reaching broad consensus on deepening China–Egypt bilateral relations and expanding practical cooperation across various fields, thereby charting the course for the next phase of economic and trade ties between the two countries.

Huang Ling stated that, in the presence of the two heads of state, The Ministry of Commerce and the relevant Egyptian authorities have each signed memoranda of understanding on strengthening economic cooperation in industrial and supply chains and on advancing development cooperation within the Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone. Both sides will work to build a more resilient partnership in industrial and supply chains, fully tap the potential of cooperative industrial parks to drive investment and trade, and help elevate China–Egypt economic and trade cooperation to a higher level.

Huang Ling stated that, going forward, the Ministry of Commerce will work with the Egyptian side to take the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Egypt as a new starting point, jointly implement the important economic and trade consensus reached by the two countries’ heads of state, promote high-quality development of bilateral economic and trade cooperation, and continuously strengthen and enrich the China–Egypt comprehensive strategic partnership.
