China-Egypt Production Capacity Cooperation Working Group Focuses on Major Projects such as TEDA Cooperation Zone

　　Xinhua News Agency, Cairo, July 19, 2017The 3rd China-Egypt Capacity Cooperation Working Group held a video conference from the 18th to the 19th. The two sides focused on major project cooperation in the fields of electricity, transportation, the construction of Egypt's new capital and the China-Egypt TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone.

The meeting was held in the form of a video dialogue to sort out the 18 projects in the list of priority projects for China-Egypt capacity cooperation and the new projects proposed by both sides. at the same time, it is also ready for the convening of the next ministerial meeting of the China-Egypt capacity cooperation mechanism and the generation of a new list of priority projects.

This is the first time that China and Egypt have held a working group meeting on production capacity cooperation in the form of video conference. Officials from the Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry, the Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation and other government departments, as well as officials from the Chinese Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Commerce, the Chinese Embassy in Egypt, and business representatives attended the meeting.

Under the guidance of the "Belt and Road" initiative, in September 2015, China and Egypt signed the "China-Egypt Capacity Cooperation Framework Agreement."
