On April 22, the Sino-Egyptian TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone held a symposium on workplace safety. The event featured a special on-site inspection and specialized guidance session led by Tianjin-based safety technology experts, followed by in-depth discussions with representatives from enterprises within the zone regarding safety management practices.
This event focuses on key priorities for workplace safety within the industrial park. In the preliminary phase, a team of experts conducted comprehensive safety inspections and targeted research throughout the park, covering enterprises across diverse sectors such as textiles and building materials, as well as critical areas like standard‑type factory buildings and supporting facilities. The assessment extended to all construction‑in‑progress projects, with meticulous examinations of production sites, equipment and facilities, and overall safety management practices.
At the symposium, Cao Hui, Executive Director of the Teda Egypt Industrial Zone Development Company, emphasized that workplace safety is a crucial foundation for the park’s high-quality development. All enterprises must earnestly raise their awareness, firmly assume and enforce their principal responsibilities, strengthen risk management and hazard remediation, and ensure the effective implementation of all safety management measures.
The expert panel provided a consolidated feedback report on the inspection findings, systematically reviewing the park’s overall status of workplace safety. Focusing on key areas such as fire safety, electrical safety, equipment and facility management, and the implementation of safety responsibilities, the panel conducted an in-depth analysis of common issues and vulnerabilities in enterprises’ day-to-day operations and put forward targeted recommendations for corrective action, helping companies further clarify their priorities for improvement.
The meeting emphasized that all enterprises must attach great importance to workplace safety, fully recognize the existing problems and potential risks, and take this expert guidance as an opportunity to conduct comprehensive self-inspections and self-corrections, ensure thorough implementation of corrective measures, and continuously enhance their safety management capabilities.
The meeting emphasized the need to continuously strengthen enterprises’ principal responsibility for workplace safety, prioritize risk management in key industries and critical links, further enhance on-site management and personnel training, elevate all employees’ safety awareness and emergency response capabilities, and effectively improve the overall level of intrinsic safety.
The participating corporate representatives unanimously agreed that this initiative—inviting professional safety‑technology experts to conduct inspections, provide guidance, and hold roundtable discussions—is highly targeted and practical, and will play a crucial role in helping enterprises standardize safety management and enhance their risk‑prevention and control capabilities.
Cao Hui stated that, going forward, the TEDA Cooperation Zone will take this inspection and symposium as an opportunity to steadily advance the rectification of safety hazards and targeted remediation efforts, strengthen guidance and oversight of key industries and critical links, and ensure that enterprises earnestly fulfill their primary responsibility for workplace safety. By intensifying training and on-site guidance, the zone will continuously enhance its corporate safety management capabilities and foster a sustained improvement in the park’s workplace safety situation.
