On the 12th, Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly stated that Egypt–China relations continue to enjoy robust momentum. The Egyptian side expressed its desire to further strengthen the two countries’ comprehensive strategic partnership and is eager to expand news cooperation and cultural exchange initiatives with Xinhua News Agency.
On the same day, in Cairo, Madbouly met with Fu Hua, President of Xinhua News Agency, who was attending the China–Arab Partners Conference at the High-Level Forum of Media and Think Tanks of the Global South. He stated that this year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Egypt and China, a bond rooted in a long and enduring friendship. Under the leadership of President Sisi and President Xi Jinping, the two countries forged a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2014, and bilateral cooperation has since made substantial progress. Both nations should seize the momentum to further advance cooperation across all sectors, including strengthening exchanges of experience and training partnerships in the media field, as well as organizing joint cultural events.
Madbouly commended the significant progress made in Egypt–China economic cooperation, particularly in investment, trade, and tourism. He noted that the Sino‑Egypt Teda Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone has yielded fruitful results, and that Chinese enterprises have played a pivotal role in the infrastructure projects of the New Administrative Capital.
Madbouly reaffirmed Egypt’s adherence to the one-China principle. He stated that Egypt and China maintain coordination on regional and international issues of mutual concern, which helps strengthen political mutual trust and advance bilateral cooperation.
Fu Hua stated that China and Egypt, both ancient civilizations and key countries of the Global South, are pivotal forces in safeguarding peace and stability amid a turbulent world. Xinhua News Agency stands as a faithful witness, chronicler, and promoter of China–Egypt friendship and cooperation. It will continue to report objectively and impartially on Egypt’s economic and social development, tell Egypt’s story effectively, and actively strengthen collaboration and exchanges with Egyptian media outlets and think tanks in areas such as technology and personnel, thereby jointly amplifying the voice of the Global South on the global stage and fostering positive energy through solidarity and cooperation.
Dia Rashwan, Egypt’s Minister of State for Information, who attended the meeting, stated that Egypt attaches great importance to expanding media cooperation with China and will further promote exchanges of professional expertise and practical experience between the two sides.
