Original Title: "The 2026 Member Representative Conference of the Egypt China Chamber of Commerce Held in Suez"
The 2026 Member Representative Conference and Spring Reception of the Egypt China Chamber of Commerce was held on the 24th at the China-Egypt TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone in Suez Province, Egypt. Zhao Liuqing, Minister-Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Egypt, Chang Weicai, President of the Egypt China Chamber of Commerce, and more than 140 representatives from 110 Chinese-funded enterprises in Egypt attended the event.
At the meeting, Chang Weicai stated that the development of Chinese enterprises in Egypt is an important part of pragmatic cooperation between China and Egypt. In the process of promoting the construction of Egypt's new administrative capital, the development of the Suez Canal Economic Zone, infrastructure upgrades, energy, and manufacturing development, Egypt has always attached great importance to Chinese experience, technology, and enterprises. The Egypt China Chamber of Commerce will continue to advocate for strengthened communication, mutual support, and rational competition among enterprises, promoting a healthier, more orderly, and sustainable development environment, jointly safeguarding the overall image and long-term interests of Chinese enterprises in Egypt.
At the meeting, Liu Bin, Deputy Representative of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade in Egypt and Secretary-General of the Egypt China Chamber of Commerce, reported to the member representatives on the 2025 work situation, financial income and expenditure, and the 2026 work plan of the Egypt China Chamber of Commerce. Representatives from sub-associations in contracting engineering, electricity, automobiles, manufacturing, petroleum, and information industries respectively presented analysis reports on the Egyptian market in 2025. The meeting also issued an "Initiative on Jointly Resisting 'Involution' Competition and Maintaining Fair Market Competition Order for Chinese-funded Enterprises in Egypt."
The 2025 work report of the Egypt China Chamber of Commerce shows that with the deep implementation of Egypt's "Vision 2030," the cooperation between China and Egypt is expanding from traditional engineering contracting to deep cooperation in the industrial chain. The chamber effectively plays the role of platform docking and consulting services, assisting domestic enterprises to deeply understand the Egyptian market environment, connect with local partners, share experiences, and avoid risks, strongly supporting enterprises to "go global" and becoming a reliable support for Chinese-funded enterprises going overseas.
