A delegation of over 60 young diplomats from the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs recently visited Tianjin for study and inspection. During their stay in Tianjin, the delegation visited the Luban Workshop Experience Center, the Tianjin Public Training Center for Vocational Skills, the Smart Zero-Carbon Terminal at Tianjin Port, and Sino-African Teda Investment Co., Ltd.
At the Luban Workshop Experience Hall and the Public Training Center for Vocational Skills, the delegation gained a systematic understanding of our city’s achievements in vocational skills training, technology transfer, and cross-cultural education and cooperation through immersive observation and interactive engagement. They also engaged in in-depth exchanges with Egyptian students studying in Tianjin.
At Zhongfei Teda Investment Co., Ltd., the delegation visited the 40th-anniversary exhibition showcasing Teda Holdings’ achievements, gaining an in-depth understanding of the development of Teda Holdings and the China-Egypt Teda Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone. The delegation also engaged in a lively discussion with company officials on the business layout, core strengths, and future plans for the economic and trade cooperation zone.
Shirin Elsharawy, Minister Counselor at the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that this visit to Tianjin was deeply impressive, particularly the positive role played by the Luban Workshop in enhancing the skills of Egyptian youth and boosting the development of local industries. Members of the delegation also expressed their willingness to bring back to their home countries what they had seen, learned, and felt, and to apply these insights to their work in order to further advance bilateral cooperation projects. 2026 marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Egypt, and cooperation between the two sides in various fields—including education and youth exchanges—will usher in new opportunities.
