Co-hosted by the BRICS New Industrial Revolution Partnership Innovation Base and the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone, with TEDA Cooperation Zone serving as a co-organizer, the event was guided by the principle of "Openness, Inclusiveness, and Win-Win Cooperation," aiming to create a precise matchmaking platform for Chinese and Egyptian enterprises. Zhuang Rongliang, Member of the Standing Committee and Vice Mayor of Xiamen City, as well as Director of the BRICS New Industrial Revolution Partnership Innovation Base, led a delegation to attend the event, further driving bilateral industrial cooperation to new heights.
Political and business leaders gather to discuss cooperation, building a bridge for China-Egypt industrial collaboration.
The meeting brought together prominent representatives from the political and business sectors of both countries. Egyptian guests included Mr. Amr Marzouk, General Manager of the Investment Department at the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone, along with representatives from Egyptian enterprises. On the Chinese side, attendees featured Wu Lijun, Minister-Counselor at the Chinese Embassy in Egypt; Ong Xiaolan, Director of the Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology; Jiang Qingsheng, Deputy Director in charge of daily operations at the BRICS New Industrial Revolution Partnership Innovation Center—alongside other government officials—and representatives from more than ten key Xiamen-based companies, including Xiamen Xiangyu, Xiamen C&D Corporation, Xiamen King Long United Automotive Industry, and Sanda Membrane Environmental Technology, among others.
The event was chaired by Deputy Director Jiang Qingsheng. Vice Mayor Zhuang Rongliang, Mr. Amr Marzouk, Counselor Wu Lijun, and Cao Hui, Executive Director of the Teda Special Economic Zone Development Company in Egypt, delivered speeches one after another, outlining a blueprint for China-Egypt industrial cooperation from perspectives such as policy support, locational advantages, and collaborative achievements.

Vice Mayor Zhuang Rongliang pointed out in his speech that China and Egypt are strategic partners working hand in hand, and this matchmaking event is a proactive response to the initiative aimed at deepening practical cooperation. He emphasized that Xiamen, as a key city serving as an important pillar of BRICS cooperation, has already facilitated numerous collaborative projects through the BRICS Innovation Base, effectively boosting the quality and upgrading of China-Egypt partnerships. This matchmaking event is, indeed, a concrete step in implementing President Xi Jinping’s vision to deepen BRICS’ pragmatic collaboration.
Amr Marzouk, General Manager, stated that the Suez Canal Economic Zone Authority places great importance on cooperation with BRICS countries. As a key platform for collaboration, the TEDA Cooperation Zone has created an excellent development environment for businesses, significantly boosting regional economic prosperity. The Suez Canal Economic Zone is currently optimizing its investment climate through a self-governed management model featuring a "single regulatory body," and looks forward to Chinese enterprises deeply engaging in regional development—enabling them to jointly benefit from the economic growth opportunities brought by the canal.
Counselor Wu Lijun emphasized in his speech that China and Egypt enjoy close cooperation in areas such as economy, trade, and culture. As a flagship project under the joint Belt and Road Initiative, the TEDA Cooperation Zone will inject new momentum into bilateral collaboration during this matchmaking event.
Cao Hui, Executive Director of the Special Economic Zone Development Company, highlighted the cooperative zone as a landmark achievement in aligning the Belt and Road Initiative with Egypt’s “Suez Canal Corridor Development Strategy,” backed by 17 years of development experience. To date, the zone has attracted more than 200 enterprises, with total investments exceeding US$3 billion and generating sales of US$5.9 billion. It has directly created nearly 10,000 jobs and successfully drawn in renowned Chinese companies such as China Jushi, Midea, and Hisense. Today, the zone has become one of Egypt’s most environmentally advanced industrial parks—and the region with the highest concentration of Chinese-invested enterprises.

Collaborative achievements blossom in multiple areas.
During the corporate presentation session, representatives from Chinese companies such as Sanda Membrane Environmental Technology Co., Ltd. and Shangderui Decorative Materials (Xiamen) Co., Ltd., along with representatives from two Egyptian enterprises, successively outlined their core businesses, featured products, and intentions for collaboration, fully showcasing the industrial strength and growth potential of both sides, thus laying a solid foundation for future partnerships.
The signing ceremony emerged as a key highlight of this matchmaking event. Witnessed jointly by Mr. Amr Marzouk and leaders from Xiamen City, three landmark cooperation agreements were successfully inked: a Memorandum of Understanding between the BRICS Innovation Center and the TEDA Cooperation Zone; a procurement agreement between Xiamen Jinlv and Kasrawy Company; and a collaborative partnership agreement between Xiamen Jianfa Guolv and Regina Travel of Egypt. These signed agreements signify that Chinese and Egyptian enterprises have reached a deep consensus on fostering robust collaboration across multiple sectors, paving the way for new opportunities to drive economic growth for both sides.
Following the signing ceremony, guests and corporate representatives engaged in free-flowing discussions around key areas such as new energy, advanced materials, intelligent manufacturing, and seawater desalination, before exchanging gifts and taking commemorative photos. The event concluded successfully.
The successful organization of this matchmaking event significantly strengthened industrial collaboration between China and Egypt under the BRICS cooperation framework, creating an effective "face-to-face" communication platform for Chinese and Egyptian enterprises. Moving forward, both China and Egypt will continue to deepen collaborative efforts across the industrial chain, supply chain, and innovation network, fully unlocking their cooperative potential and contributing to the building of a China-Egypt community with a shared future, as well as to the high-quality development of BRICS cooperation.
