On May 13, local time, Egyptian Prime Minister Madbouly visited the China-Egypt TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone (hereinafter referred to as the TEDA Cooperation Zone) to attend the inauguration ceremony of a ductile iron pipe factory project invested by XinXing Cast Pipe Co., Ltd. with US\$150 million (hereinafter referred to as the XinXing Cast Pipe Egypt Project). Egyptian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Transport Wazir, Egyptian Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Development Sherif Sherbini, General Tariq Hamid Shazli, Governor of Suez Governorate, Egypt, and Walid Jamal El Din, Chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone Authority (hereinafter referred to as SCZone), also attended the ceremony.

This was Prime Minister Madbouly's sixth visit to the TEDA Cooperation Zone during his term. At the ceremony, Madbouly spoke highly of the project. He stated that the XinXing Cast Pipe project, located in the TEDA Cooperation Zone, will not only fill the gap in Egypt's ductile iron pipe industry but will also significantly enhance the local pipeline R\&D and supply capabilities, contributing to Egypt's industrialization process. He emphasized that the Egyptian government is committed to attracting foreign investment, creating comprehensive industrial clusters, creating job opportunities, supporting sustainable development, reducing import dependence, and enhancing international competitiveness.

Walid Jamal El Din stated that the XinXing Cast Pipe project signed and entered the TEDA Cooperation Zone in March 2024, held a groundbreaking ceremony in April of the same year, and is now officially in production. In just over a year, the project successfully completed the entire process from signing to production, demonstrating the high efficiency and close cooperation between SCZone, the TEDA Cooperation Zone, and investors.

The XinXing Cast Pipe Egypt project is the company's first overseas cast iron pipe production base. It covers an area of 270,000 square meters and has a designed annual production capacity of 250,000 tons. Products will cover the water supply, drainage, water conservancy, and seawater desalination fields in Egypt, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. The project is expected to create more than 500 jobs locally, generate US\$200 million in annual export earnings, and significantly reduce the overall investment cost of pipeline projects in Egypt.
Madbouly highly praised the strategic significance of the TEDA Cooperation Zone. He pointed out that as a model of China-Egypt cooperation, the TEDA Cooperation Zone has attracted nearly 200 companies and over US\$3 billion in investment, playing a key role in promoting regional economic growth. He reiterated that the Egyptian government will continue to support Chinese companies' investment in Egypt and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.
