Recently, the groundbreaking ceremony for Binhai Group's Egypt New Energy + Chemical Integration Project was grandly held in the China-Egypt TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone.

General Tariq Hamid Shazli, Governor of Suez Governorate, Egypt; Walid Jamal El Din, Chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone Authority, Egypt; Ahmed Jamal and Mohamed Abdel Gawad, Vice Chairmen; Zhao Liuqing, Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Egypt; Wei Jianqing, General Manager of China-Africa TEDA Investment Co., Ltd.; Maged El Sayed, Chairman of Egypt Life Chemical Group; and Cai Yinghui, Senior Vice President of Binhai Group, and other Chinese and Egyptian government and business representatives attended the ceremony and jointly broke ground for the project, marking the official launch of this US$300 million green chemical project.
The project is planned in two parts: US$150 million will be used to build a green chlor-alkali production base, and another US$150 million will be used in cooperation with AMEA Energy of the UAE to build a dedicated solar green power plant. Upon completion, this project will become Egypt's first zero-carbon chemical demonstration project, reducing import dependence through localized production and promoting the green transformation of the chemical industry.

Cai Yinghui stated that the project will leverage Egypt's location, policies, and energy advantages, combining Binhai Group's experience in new energy and process technology to provide Egypt with a replicable model of green development. The head of China-Africa TEDA stated that the TEDA Cooperation Zone will continue to leverage its "nanny-style" service advantages, providing comprehensive support services to Binhai Group and all companies in the park, helping to deepen and strengthen China-Egypt cooperation.
Binhai Group's Egypt New Energy + Chemical Integration Project is not only a milestone in China-Egypt economic and trade cooperation, but will also drive the upgrading of Egypt's chemical industry chain, attract international investment, and promote employment and sustainable economic growth. In the future, the project is expected to flow endlessly like the Nile River, becoming a symbol of China-Egypt friendship and green development.
