China-Africa TEDA Advice on South-South Cooperation and Sustainable Development of Overseas Economic and Trade Cooperation Zones

On June 12, the "South-South Cooperation and Sustainable Development Seminar of Overseas Economic and Trade Cooperation Zones" was held on the Bulitai campus of Nankai University. Wei Jianqing, Deputy General Manager of China-Africa TEDA Investment Co., Ltd., and Xu Qifeng, Director of R & D Promotion Division, were invited to attend, with the China International Economic and Technological Exchange Center, the Development Research Center of the State Council, the China International Knowledge Development Center, the China-Africa Development Fund Research and Development Department, the China-Africa Private Chamber of Commerce, the Investment Promotion Department of the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Mechanical and Electrical Products, the Institute of International Trade and Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Commerce, Tianjin University of Finance and Economics, Tianjin Municipal Party School of the Communist Party of China, Tianjin Academy of Social Sciences, Nankai University, Nankai University Multinational Research Center, Nankai University well-known scholars attended the exchange, discuss and share the cutting-edge research results in the research and practice of overseas economic and trade cooperation zones and sustainable development and related fields, and jointly discuss the challenges and countermeasures faced by the development of this field.

At the seminar, after reporting on the development of the TEDA Cooperation Zone, Deputy General Manager Wei Jianqing focused on the green and sustainable development practices of the cooperation zone, including strengthening the investment control of the park's green development management, improving the park construction of the park's green development environment, and creating The operation and management of the green operating environment and the energy efficiency improvement of the distributed power energy system are four aspects. He also started from the reality of the TEDA Cooperation Zone and put forward plans and suggestions for green and low-carbon sustainable development such as strengthening concepts, efficient use of water resources, and desert ecological management.

In recent years, the construction of my country's overseas economic and trade cooperation zones has made great progress, providing an important platform for Chinese enterprises to "group out to sea", foreign direct investment and international trade and other economic and trade cooperation. It has played a positive role in implementing the "Belt and Road" initiative and strengthening cooperation with countries along the route. Especially the South-South cooperation and international production capacity cooperation between developing countries have also effectively promoted employment and economic growth in the countries where the park is located. But at the same time, overseas economic and trade cooperation also faces a series of challenges in terms of development mode and operation management, country and industrial layout, green environmental protection and sustainable development. Under this circumstance, Nankai University, with the support of the China International Economic and Technological Exchange Center of the Ministry of Commerce and the "Global South-South Cooperation Development Center" of the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation, organized the "South-South Cooperation and Sustainable Development of Overseas Economic and Trade Cooperation Zones" "Seminar" to discuss the development experience and problems of my country's overseas economic and trade cooperation zones and promote their sustainable development, which is of great significance. As a demonstration project of China-Africa economic and trade cooperation zone along China's "Belt and Road", the TEDA Cooperation Zone actively responds to the call for green, low-carbon and sustainable development, and actively shares its own practice and thinking results.
