Recently, Kong Dejun, director of the Bureau of International Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Commerce of China, visited the TEDA Cooperation Zone. Li Ying, deputy director of the West Asia and North Africa Europe Division of the Ministry of Commerce, Li Tianshan, chairman of the Beijing Branch of the 11th Design and Research Institute of Information Industry Electronics, and Wang Aihua, president, accompanied the visit. Cao Hui, executive director of Egypt TEDA Special Zone Development Company, Xu Qifeng, executive director of Egypt TEDA Investment Company, and Zhi Qixuan, investment manager of Egypt TEDA Industry, received warm reception.
First of all, TEDA expressed its heartfelt thanks to the Ministry of Commerce for its long-term guidance and support to the TEDA Cooperation Zone, and reported in detail to Director Kong Dejun and his party on the construction and development of the TEDA Cooperation Zone, industrial agglomeration and strategic upgrading plan, and focused on the overall employment situation of the Egyptian labor force driven by the TEDA Cooperation Zone and the employment demand of enterprises settled in the park.
Later, President Wang Aihua reported on the progress of the project of assisting the construction of technical schools in the expansion area of TEDA cooperation zone. The 11th Institute of Information Industry recently won the bid to assist Egypt's Suez Canal Economic Zone Vocational Training Center project management task. The project is located in TEDA TOWN, the expansion area of TEDA Cooperation Zone, with a total area of 40,000 square meters and a construction area of about 8000 square meters. The construction content includes administrative office area, dormitory, restaurant, training building and activity place, providing teaching, teaching furniture, office equipment and training teaching aids, etc.
After listening to the report, Director Kong said that Egypt is the first African country to establish diplomatic relations with New China, and 2024 marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership between Egypt and China. In recent years, the Belt and Road Initiative has been deeply connected with Egypt's 2030 Vision, and China-Egypt cooperation has continued to deepen. As a national-level economic and trade cooperation zone approved by the Ministry of Commerce, the TEDA Cooperation Zone is a landmark achievement of the "Belt and Road" jointly built by China and Egypt. Director Kong expressed his gratitude to TEDA for its support and cooperation in the construction of the technical school project. At the same time, he hoped that the 11th Institute of Information Industry would carry out the project in depth, focusing on strengthening communication and coordination with Egypt, and effectively raising Egypt's main concern. Deputy Director Li Ying said that the project of assisting the construction of technical schools should make full use of the unique economic, trade and cultural cooperation platform of TEDA Cooperation Zone in Egypt, fully investigate the labor demand of enterprises in the park, and perfect the determination of project specialties in combination with the industrial layout of the surrounding areas of Suhana and the key development industries of Suez Canal Corridor. At the same time, it is emphasized that the details of the follow-up work should be carried out.
The 11th Institute of TEDA and Hexin Industry thanked the Ministry of Commerce for its care and guidance. The two sides said that they would jointly promote the research and implementation of the project to assist the construction of vocational and technical schools, help the industrial development of the park, help the skills of the Egyptian labor force, and help the economic, trade and cultural exchanges between China and Egypt.
