Egyptian Prime Minister Witnesses Signing of Several Major Projects in TEDA Cooperation Zone

On October 17, witnessed by Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli, the signing ceremony of several major projects of the China-Egypt TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone (hereinafter referred to as the "TEDA Cooperation Zone") was held at the Wanda Mandarin Hotel in Beijing. Qu Defu, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Tianjin TEDA Investment Holdings Co., Ltd., Liu Desheng, Deputy General Manager, and leaders of China-Africa TEDA Investment Co., Ltd. and contracted enterprises attended the symposium and attended the signing ceremony.
At the meeting, Prime Minister Madabli congratulated TEDA on its achievements. He pointed out that the TEDA Cooperation Zone has become a model of China-Egypt cooperation and a model of China's foreign investment, which has greatly promoted and helped the economic growth of the Middle East and Africa. He expressed great concern about the development of the TEDA Cooperation Zone, deeply felt the booming development trend of the park during many inspections, and expressed support for the strategic upgrading of the cooperation zone, especially the preliminary idea of "expanding three square kilometers to the west. Prime Minister Madebury affirmed the use of the TEDA Cooperation Zone as a pilot area to carry out RMB cross-border settlement business. He emphasized that in order to deepen trade between the two countries and attract Chinese companies to invest in Egypt, the Egyptian government will provide a loose monetary policy. He hopes that Chinese financial institutions will set up branches in Egypt to promote the realization of RMB settlement business in Egypt. Finally, Prime Minister Madbouli said that the Egyptian government will, as always, support the TEDA Cooperation Zone, encourage Chinese enterprises to invest in Egypt, and jointly promote China-Egypt cooperation to a new level.
Chairman Qu Defu expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Madabli for his strong support for the TEDA Cooperation Zone project. He said that the TEDA Cooperation Zone is a landmark project that connects the development strategy of the "Belt and Road" and the Suez Canal Corridor. It is a demonstration project of China-Africa cooperation and joint construction of the "Belt and Road". At this stage, it has become an important platform for China-Egypt economic and trade cooperation. Good political, economic and social benefits have been achieved. In order to further implement the important instructions of President Xi Jinping and President Sisi on "implementing major projects such as the China-Egypt TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone", TEDA Holdings is stepping up efforts to promote the strategic upgrading of the cooperation zone, contributing to the "Egyptian 2030 Vision" national recovery plan. At the same time, in order to ensure the smooth implementation of the strategic upgrade plan, TEDA Holdings will make every effort to promote the realization of RMB cross-border settlement, create a business environment that is more conducive to attracting Chinese-funded enterprises, and make more contributions to Egypt's economic and social development.
Under the witness of Prime Minister Madbouli, signing ceremonies were held for the TEDA Cooperation Zone West Expansion Project, Xinxing Cast Pipe Ductile Iron Pipe Project, China Glass Egypt New Energy Glass Project, Tianyi Chemical Egypt Bromide/Flame Retardant Project, etc.
