"The key to Arab countries' access to more clean energy is the use of Chinese technology and knowledge in the region. Therefore, cooperation with China in the energy sector is of vital importance to Arab countries." A few days ago, Egypt's Deputy Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Planning and International Cooperation Mohamed Mousa (Mohamed Mousa) said in an interview with the media.
Moussa affirmed that "China has the world's strongest renewable energy capacity, whether it is wind or solar energy."
According to data released by the National Energy Administration, as of the end of September 2018, my country's installed capacity of renewable energy power generation reached 0.706 billion kilowatts; of which, the installed capacity of hydropower was 0.348 billion kilowatts, the installed capacity of wind power exceeded 0.176 billion kilowatts, the installed capacity of photovoltaic power generation exceeded 0.165 billion kilowatts, and the installed capacity of biomass power generation 16.91 million kilowatts.
Analysts believe that as China and Arab countries have introduced policies to adjust their energy structure, clean energy will become a new "blue ocean" for China-Arab energy cooperation ".
At the beginning of 2017, the UAE government announced an investment of US $163 billion million to develop renewable energy projects, striving to increase the proportion of clean energy in the domestic energy consumption structure to 50%. Egypt plans to increase the proportion of clean energy power generation to 20% by 2022 and 40% by 2035. The Moroccan government plans to increase the proportion of renewable energy in the country's total energy consumption to 42% by 2020.

Recently, at the 6th China-Arab Energy Cooperation Conference held in Cairo, the capital of Egypt, Liu Baohua, deputy director of the National Energy Administration, announced that China and Arab countries will establish a clean energy training center, and the two sides will organize photovoltaic, solar thermal, wind power, smart grid, etc. Capacity building activities.
It is understood that Chinese renewable energy-related enterprises have launched a number of energy projects in Arab countries, covering the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Morocco and Jordan.
Yang Kai, president of Hanergy Thin Film Power Generation Group Egypt International, introduced that the company plans to invest in the construction of a photovoltaic industrial park project in Egypt. The total installed capacity is expected to reach 300 megawatts, the investment is not less than US $0.45 billion, and 3000 jobs can be provided.

"We very much recognize the Egyptian market. Egypt not only has a population of more than 9000 million, but also can radiate to the entire Middle East and North Africa region," Yang Kai said. "The Egyptian government has issued a new policy to encourage people to install photovoltaic equipment and then sell electricity to the government., So we are very optimistic about the development of the photovoltaic industry in Egypt."
Moussa added: "In addition to our cooperation with the State Grid Corporation of China and Huawei, we are working with China's Sinohydro Corporation to build a major pumped storage power station with a capacity of 2,400 megawatts at Mount Ataqah in Egypt's northeastern province of Suez."
League of Arab States economist Mahmoud Fath Allah also has high hopes for China-Arab clean energy cooperation. "China has rich experience in the field of clean energy, and Sino-Arab cooperation in this field can greatly accelerate the development of clean energy in Arab countries."
