Meeting in Shanghai Cooperation Organization, showcasing Tianjin's brilliance, the "Friendly City Global Tour" large-scale multi-media interview event visited Egypt, a dialogue partner of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, on the 8th. Starting from Cairo, the capital of Egypt, and heading east to the China-Egypt TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone, a new batch of projects have been established.

The China-Egypt TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone is China's second batch of national-level overseas economic and trade cooperation zones, operated by Tianjin China-Africa TEDA Investment Co., Ltd. This year, five new projects have been launched, including Kates Garden, chlor-alkali chemical industry, and solar glass, and it has become a starting point for many Chinese companies to go global.

Caimide Group is a Tianjin-based company that researches and manufactures calcium hypochlorite, with products exported to more than 100 countries and regions worldwide. In recent years, the group has expanded its business to Egypt, with orders growing rapidly, making it necessary to build a factory locally. Since last August, General Manager Su Bento has frequently traveled between China and Egypt to select a site for the new project. Egyptian partners recommended the TEDA Cooperation Zone, and with their understanding of Tianjin TEDA Investment Holding Co., Ltd., the cooperation zone came into Caimide Group's consideration.

The project took only a little over a month from investigation to signing the agreement. This is not only because of the supporting industrial chain, but also because TEDA has newly created a "cross-border shopping cart," which is also a plus. This is a new initiative launched by the cooperation zone this year, providing a comprehensive range of financial services, including financing and settlement, for companies' cross-border businesses such as product exports.

In Egypt, "TEDA" is not just the name of a company or park, but also represents a development model, directly creating nearly 10,000 jobs, cultivating a group of park development, construction, and management talents for Egypt, and attracting 185 companies to settle in. In 2022, Egypt became a dialogue partner of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, bringing more opportunities for Sino-Egyptian economic and trade cooperation. Now, the cooperation zone is planning to expand westward by another 3 square kilometers.

The amusement park and hotel built by TEDA Investment, along with the surrounding convenience stores; ten years ago, it was a barren desert, but ten years later, with the increasing population, the cooperation zone has become vibrant.
