Recently, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Katers In-Park Project in Egypt, jointly developed by Haijian Construction Co., Ltd. and TEDA, was held. This project is the first Chinese-funded in-park project in Egypt, the first home appliance supply chain industrial park, the first "concierge-style" park providing full-lifecycle services, and a gathering area for small and medium-sized enterprises.

During the 2024 China-Africa Cooperation Forum summit, six projects were signed and settled in the China-Egypt TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone, involving the chemical, textile, new energy, home appliance, and food industries, with the Katers In-Park Project being one of them.
The Katers In-Park Project is located in the central area of the China-Egypt TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone, covering an area of 40,000 square meters, with an investment of approximately US\$10 million, driving an investment of US\$15 million, and is expected to create approximately 300 new jobs. The project will construct 27,000㎡ of high-standard factories, including the establishment of parts warehousing and distribution centers, parts assembly plants, sheet metal processing centers, injection molding centers, foam material production, and other related supply chain enterprises and raw material product processing. It not only supports Chinese home appliance brands such as Haier and Midea but also provides high-quality supporting supply chains for local Egyptian brands.
As an important practice of jointly building the "Belt and Road", the Katers In-Park Project will deeply integrate the resource advantages of China and Egypt, creating a new engine for regional development. It will build the park into a green, intelligent manufacturing, zero-carbon park, promote a circular economy model, and open an ecological system, working with upstream and downstream partners to jointly build an industrial platform that shares resources and complements advantages.
As of now, the China-Egypt TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone has attracted 185 enterprises, attracting over US\$3 billion in investment, accumulating over US\$5.3 billion in sales, paying nearly US\$300 million in taxes, and directly solving employment for nearly 10,000 people. The TEDA Cooperation Zone has become the industrial park in Egypt with the best overall environment, the highest investment density, the highest unit output, and the most concentrated gathering of Chinese enterprises.
