Crossing mountains and seas, heading towards the future. Recently, over 8,000 kilometers away, 29 Egyptian employees from the Egypt ductile iron pipe factory of Xinxing Ductile Iron Pipes Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Xinxing Ductile Iron) arrived in Wuhu, Anhui, where they will receive nearly two months of professional training at the Wuhu Xinxing Ductile Iron company.
In the first quarter of this year, Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and the Chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone Authority, Walid Gamal Eldin, jointly witnessed the signing of Xinxing Ductile Iron's entry into the China-Egypt TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone. A month later, the project held a groundbreaking ceremony, officially entering a vigorous construction phase. The project is progressing rapidly, and has now begun organizing Egyptian employees to receive training in China.
"China and Egypt work hand in hand to develop and build the 'Belt and Road'." At the opening ceremony, the Egyptian employees expressed their sincere and simple wishes in Arabic. The Egyptian employees learned relevant rules and regulations, discipline requirements, signed a training commitment letter, underwent corporate culture and safety training, visited the company exhibition hall, participated in safety training and examinations, and received comprehensive professional training covering safety knowledge, production processes, molten iron conditioning, magnesium ball spraying, hydraulic system maintenance, electrical control, and electric furnace maintenance.
"I like China, and I think this job has a great future." "I hope to work hard here to learn China's advanced technology and development experience, and in the future, help Egyptian companies grow stronger with my efforts." The participating Egyptian employees expressed that they would study diligently, work hard, and effectively improve their professional qualities and vocational skills, bringing the knowledge they learned back to Egypt to contribute to the development of Egyptian companies.
It is reported that the Xinxing Ductile Iron 250,000-ton ductile iron pipe project in Egypt is the company's first overseas ductile iron pipe production base, implementing the 'Belt and Road' initiative and actively 'going out' for construction. The project is located in the expansion area of the China-Egypt TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone, covering an area of approximately 270,000 square meters, with a production capacity for ductile iron pipes ranging from 1,200 to 2,000 millimeters in diameter. Once completed, it will fill the gap in Egypt's local pipeline supply capacity.
After a period of intense construction, the base will conduct its first hot test before the end of this year, and is expected to be operational in the first half of 2025. The products will mainly supply Egypt, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe, and are expected to bring nearly $200 million in foreign exchange income to Egypt each year, provide over 500 local jobs, and train and export a group of professional technical workers and enterprise management talents for Egypt.
