Egyptian Initiative Delegation Visits TEDA Cooperation Zone

A few days ago, the China-Egypt TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone (TEDA Cooperation Zone) welcomed a group of special guests. On the first floor of the service center, the delegation visited the TEDA cooperation zone planning sand table and TEDA history exhibition hall. Xu Qifeng introduced to the delegation the development history and current situation of China-Egypt economic and trade cooperation, and explained in detail the development history, construction, investment promotion results and future plans of the TEDA Cooperation Zone, fully demonstrating the TEDA Cooperation Zone's efforts in promoting regional sustainable development and creating a comprehensive investment environment. He pointed out that after 16 years of joint efforts by the Chinese and Egyptian people, the TEDA Cooperation Zone has become an important achievement of China-Egypt economic and trade cooperation and an important symbol of China-Egypt friendly cooperation. It is the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" initiative and the development of Egypt's "Suez Canal Corridor". Later, accompanied by Xu Qifeng and Cao Hui, the delegation visited the model enterprises in the TEDA Cooperation Zone-the Egyptian Stone Glass Fiber Project and the Midea Kitchen Thermal Appliance Project. During this visit, Egyptian young people fully felt the vitality of the vigorous development of the TEDA Cooperation Zone and had an in-depth understanding of China's most advanced production technology and the competitive advantages of leading factories.

During the visit, the delegation came to the General Administration of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (referred to as the "General Administration of the Special Administrative Region"). In the auditorium of the General Administration of the Special Administrative Region, Cao Hui made a comprehensive and detailed promotion of the TEDA cooperation zone to more than 300 guests of the delegation. By the end of 2023, the TEDA cooperation zone had attracted a total of 160 companies, attracting actual investment of more than US $1.9 billion, cumulative sales of nearly US $4.6 billion, and taxes paid more than US $0.25 billion, directly solve the employment of nearly 10,000 people.
