Egypt TEDA and China Telecom "Cloud Sign" Strategic Cooperation Memorandum

On February 9, 2021, Egyptian TEDA Investment Company, Egyptian TEDA Special Zone Development Company (the two companies referred to as Egyptian TEDA) and China Telecom (Africa Middle East) Co., Ltd. (referred to as China Telecom) held the "Cloud Signing" ceremony of the Egyptian TEDA-China Telecom Strategic Cooperation Memorandum through remote video. Wei Jianqing, executive director of TEDA, Egypt, and Liu Changhai, general manager of China Telecom Africa Middle East Company, signed the contract on behalf of both parties. Lu Aimin, Deputy General Manager of China Telecom Africa Middle East Company, Liu Ming, Manager of Enterprise and Customer Department, Xie Wukui, Manager of Industry Branch, and heads of relevant sectors, Li Daixin, Deputy General Manager of China Africa TEDA Investment Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as China Africa TEDA), Li Chentao, Assistant General Manager, Liu Yi, Assistant General Manager, and Wei Na, Management Director of Egypt TEDA, attended the signing ceremony.

Before signing the contract, Wei Jianqing, executive director of TEDA, expressed his gratitude to General Manager Liu Changhai and all the attendees. He said that with the signing of the memorandum, the two sides will work together to upgrade the China-Egypt TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone (TEDA Cooperation Zone for short) based on the principle of "strategic coordination and sincere cooperation", and strive to improve the park's capabilities in Internet of Things, security, energy consumption, intelligent transportation and emergency command, efforts will be made to build the TEDA Cooperation Zone into the first high-intelligence park model for China-Africa cooperation. He stressed that the signing of the memorandum will have a far-reaching and significant impact on the future development of both sides. As long as the two sides cooperate sincerely, complement each other's advantages, seek common development and mutual benefit, they will certainly be able to achieve win-win results in further deepening cooperation, jointly expanding overseas markets and multi field cooperation.

Li Daixin, deputy general manager of China-Africa TEDA, put forward expectations and suggestions for cooperation in his speech. He said that the TEDA cooperation zone is currently restricted by the basic communication network resource environment, and the upgrading and transformation of network communication is at a critical stage. Improving the basic communication network is not only an important carrier for the industrial development of the cooperation zone, but also an important starting point for accelerating the construction of smart parks. The signing of the memorandum will play a major positive role in promoting investment promotion in the cooperation zone, serving the development of the industry, and building the first smart model park for China-Africa cooperation. He believes that the two sides will create more cooperation space in the construction of smart parks, Internet of things, big data, security, energy consumption, intelligent transportation, all-in-one card, emergency command and so on.

Lu Aimin, deputy general manager of China Telecom Africa Middle East, believes that this signing will be another milestone for Egypt's TEDA and China Telecom to join hands in overseas deployment on the basis of continuing domestic strategic cooperation. The two sides will carry out a series of cooperation around the smart park, deepening and upgrading the park's basic communication network, IT information facilities, integrated data center, Internet of Things security, visual management and other aspects, so as to continuously enhance the brand image and operational efficiency of the TEDA cooperation zone, help the intelligent process of the park, and build a model project of China-Africa cooperation high-intelligence park.

Liu Changhai, general manager of China Telecom Africa Middle East Company, pointed out that State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi mentioned the broad framework of the seven-point concept of upgrading China-Africa cooperation, which provides a broad platform for the cooperation between Egypt's TEDA and China Telecom. He suggested taking advantage of the signing of the memorandum of cooperation to accelerate the upgrading of cooperation in four aspects: from basic services to top-level design; From providing traditional business models to upgrading cooperative operation models; From basic communication services to upgrading of intelligent informatization package services; From taking TEDA cooperation zone as the starting point to upgrade the operation services of all African parks. He said that he is full of confidence in the future development of the TEDA Cooperation Zone and full of hope that China Telecom will become the most important strategic partner for the upgrading of industrial informatization in TEDA, Egypt.

The signing of this memorandum is a milestone by leaps and bounds. It indicates that the two sides will join hands to create a new chapter of strategic cooperation in the construction of "Belt and Road Initiative" on the basis of resource sharing and common development.
