On February 4, 2021, the "2021 Egypt Luban Workshop Industry and Education Integration Promotion Conference" was held in TEDA Cooperation Zone. The meeting was carried out in the form of a combination of online and offline, with relevant leaders from Tianjin Education Commission, Chinese Embassy in Egypt, vocational education experts from Tianjin Vocational and Technical College of Light Industry and Tianjin Communications Vocational College, as well as more than 50 representatives of Chinese enterprises investing in Egypt and willing to invest and develop in Egypt, and representatives of TEDA cooperation zone projects were invited to attend and deliver keynote speeches.
First of all, Li Li, Director of the Vocational Education Department of the Tianjin Education Commission, delivered a speech. He said that the Luban Workshop in Egypt aims to share the teaching model, professional standards, technical equipment, and teaching programs of China's high-quality vocational education with the world, and serve the "One Belt One Road" initiative, serve international production capacity cooperation, serve Chinese-funded enterprises to "go global" in Egypt, and work with cooperative countries to cultivate high-quality technical and skilled talents that are urgently needed for economic and social development.

Subsequently, Dai Yuwei, secretary of the Party Committee of Tianjin Light Industry Vocational and Technical College, introduced the construction of the Luban Workshop in Egypt to the guests. He said that Luban Workshop, as a well-known brand project of Tianjin's original and first to promote the implementation of international cooperation in vocational education, is also an important carrier for Chinese enterprises to go global. On December 31, 2019, the construction of two Luban workshops in Egypt was successfully completed. Professor Mohamed Mujahid, Deputy Minister of Basic Education and Technical Education of Egypt, and Dr. Mohamed Ayman Eshur, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Egypt, visited the workshop and expressed the quality and speed of China in the construction of Luban Workshop. Then, Cao Hui, the representative of the TEDA Cooperation Zone Project, made an exchange and sharing entitled "Deepening Cooperation, Hand in Hand. Combining the TEDA Cooperation Zone's experience in Egypt for more than ten years, the guests explained in detail Egypt's investment environment, investment advantages, investment guarantees, and the construction results of the TEDA Cooperation Zone. He said that the TEDA Cooperation Zone is giving full play to its role as a platform, promoting the continuous acceleration of industrial agglomeration, promoting economic and trade cooperation between China and Egypt, and helping to form a new development pattern with domestic large cycles as the main body and domestic and international double cycles promoting each other. What needs to be emphasized is that the TEDA Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone is not only open to Chinese companies, but also open to Egyptian and even foreign investors. Enterprises from all countries are welcome to settle in the Suez Special Economic Zone and "TEDA". At the same time, he mentioned that during the construction and operation of the TEDA cooperation zone, we deeply felt that the project was in urgent need of various professional and technical talents. Therefore, the TEDA cooperation zone actively responded to the initiative of the Tianjin Municipal Education Commission to establish the Egyptian "Luban Workshop". On April 30, 2019, it signed a tripartite cooperation agreement with Egypt's Ain Shams University, Tianjin Light Industry Vocational and Technical College, and Tianjin Transportation Vocational College, the three parties will cooperate in personnel training in the application and maintenance of numerical control equipment, photovoltaic power generation technology and application, and automotive application and maintenance technology.

Finally, Wang Shenggang, Minister Consulate of the Education and Science Department of the Chinese Embassy in Egypt, delivered a speech. He said that two "Luban workshops" in Egypt were completed and put into use, forming a Luban workshop project for secondary and higher vocational education, which played an exemplary role in Egypt and promoted the development of vocational education in Egypt. This meeting is an important part of the integration of production and education in Luban workshop. It is hoped that this meeting can further deepen the cooperation between schools and enterprises, help enterprises in the district to train and tap technical personnel, expand the source channels of human resources, and build bridges for Chinese enterprises interested in investing in Egypt.

A total of more than 20 companies intending to invest in this event participated in the meeting, for companies that are willing, qualified, and capable of "going out" to carry out docking with the TEDA cooperation zone, participate in the construction of the TEDA cooperation zone, and enter the TEDA cooperation zone to achieve agglomeration and development.
