On May 19, the second meeting of the Sino-Egyptian political parties to jointly build the "Belt and Road Initiative" exchange mechanism and the "cloud docking" activity of Chinese and Egyptian entrepreneurs, sponsored by the International Liaison Department of the CPC Central Committee and co-sponsored by the Tianjin Foreign Affairs Office, was successfully held. Yu Wei, deputy director of the Third Bureau of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, and Peng Yong, director of the China Economic Liaison Center, attended the meeting. Luan Jianzhang, director of the Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, was invited to attend and deliver speeches as the main guests. Wei Jianqing, Deputy General Manager of China-Africa TEDA, Nahla, Executive President of Egypt TEDA, and more than 70 Egyptian political party leaders and representatives of Chinese and Egyptian entrepreneurs attended the event. During the period, representatives of Tianjin entrepreneurs conducted extensive and in-depth exchanges with Egypt on the construction of economic and trade zones, cross-border e-commerce, electric vehicles, new energy, and digital technology, and reached preliminary cooperation intentions.

Director Luan Jianzhang expressed his warm congratulations on the convening of the second meeting of the "Belt and Road" exchange mechanism jointly built by the Chinese and Egyptian political parties, and thanked the International Department of the Central Committee for providing a "cloud docking" platform for Tianjin entrepreneurs. During the meeting, Director Luan Jianzhang said that Egypt is the first Arab and African country to establish diplomatic relations with China. When President Xi Jinping met with President Sisi who came to China to attend the opening ceremony of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics in February this year, he pointed out that the China-Egypt comprehensive strategic partnership has become a model of unity, cooperation, mutual benefit and win-win between China and Arab, African, and developing countries. Under the good political atmosphere of China and Egypt, Tianjin and Egypt have maintained a healthy and upward trend of exchanges and cooperation. In particular, Tianjin has built two landmark projects in Egypt-China-Egypt TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone and Egypt's "Luban Workshop". These two landmark projects have become vivid examples of the profound friendship and high-level operation of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Egypt. Among them, the China-Egypt TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone is a landmark project of my country's "One Belt One Road" and Egypt's Suez Canal Corridor development strategy. It is the only national-level overseas economic and trade cooperation zone project in my country that was unveiled and promoted by two national leaders. With the in-depth connection between China's joint construction of the "Belt and Road" initiative and Egypt's "2030 Vision", Tianjin is willing to use this as an opportunity to explore cooperation points, close economic and trade relations, innovate cooperation forms, and expand cooperation areas. The Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone project is the platform and carrier to encourage enterprises of both sides to make full use of resources to expand higher-level cooperation.

Wei Jianqing, Deputy General Manager of China-Africa TEDA, and Nahla, Executive President of Egypt TEDA, focused on the development plan of the Suez Canal Corridor in Egypt, the expansion project of the Suhana Port, the construction of the Suhana area sewage treatment station, the seawater desalination plant and the high-speed railway, and the China-Egypt TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone Development and construction will be introduced in detail. At the same time, the speech pointed out that the China-Egypt TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone will be guided by the cooperation consensus between China and Egypt to jointly build "the belt and road initiative", serve Chinese and Egyptian enterprises wholeheartedly, and always adhere to the development concept of "win-win cooperation". Committed to building a high-quality investment platform for Home Away Home for customers, and suggested that the TEDA Cooperation Zone be the platform carrier and link, assist Chinese and Egyptian enterprises to cooperate in five major areas: industrial investment, logistics and commerce, engineering and construction contracting, finance, and providing full-process management services for enterprises entering the zone.

Deputy Director Yu Wei fully affirmed this event and expressed his willingness to build a "Belt and Road" exchange mechanism through the Chinese and Egyptian political parties to better serve local economic development and consolidate the social foundation of the China-Egypt comprehensive strategic partnership.

The "cloud docking" activity of Chinese and Egyptian entrepreneurs is one of the supporting activities under the "Belt and Road Initiative" exchange mechanism jointly built by Chinese and Egyptian political parties. The event further promoted mutual understanding among Tianjin entrepreneurs and provided a rare opportunity to deepen economic and trade cooperation between Tianjin and Egypt in the context of the epidemic, and will strengthen communication with Egyptian entrepreneurs in the future to contribute to the promotion of the "Belt and Road" between China and Egypt.
