The TEDA Cooperation Zone has established a friendly cooperation intention with Taizhou City, jointly creating a new chapter in economic development.

On the evening of December 8, 2024, Ye Haiyan, the chairman of the Taizhou Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, led a delegation of six from the Taizhou Investment Promotion Center to visit the China-Egypt TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone for inspection and guidance. Li Daixin, chairman of China-Africa TEDA, Xu Qifeng, executive director of TEDA Investment Company in Egypt, Guo Zheng, head of the operation management department, and Shang Yanglin, general manager of the resident enterprise Ailu Clean, warmly welcomed them.

The delegation first visited the exhibition hall of the investment service center in the cooperation zone. Xu Qifeng provided a detailed introduction to the development history of the park since its establishment in 2008, showcasing the growth path from infrastructure construction to the current multi-industry cluster. The exhibition hall vividly presented the planning layout, development achievements, and future vision of the park through multimedia interactive devices and sand table models, highlighting the construction achievements of key industries such as textiles, home appliances, new energy photovoltaics, machinery manufacturing, and chemicals. Li Daixin further explained the park's policy advantages, resource integration capabilities, and directions for international cooperation. The delegation highly praised the transformation of the cooperation zone from nothing to something, from desert to modern industrial park, fully affirming its unique position as an important platform for China-Egypt economic cooperation.

After visiting the exhibition hall, both parties engaged in in-depth discussions in the conference room. Li Daixin briefly reviewed the development achievements of the cooperation zone in 2024, mentioning that it received 450 team visits throughout the year, attracted 320 enterprises for inspection, and successfully introduced 19 enterprises to settle in. As a key cooperation project supported by the governments of China and Egypt, the cooperation zone provides enterprises with a superior business environment and complete industrial support services, and will continue to promote high-quality development in key areas such as textiles, new energy, home appliances, and chemicals in the future.

Chairman Ye Haiyan expressed high appreciation for the development achievements and future plans of the cooperation zone. She pointed out that private enterprises in Taizhou account for as much as 99.6%, possessing strong international potential. This visit provided valuable information and experience for Taizhou enterprises to understand the Egyptian market and overseas investment opportunities. She hopes to promote more Taizhou enterprises to 'go global' and explore broader international markets through further strengthening cooperation.

Secretary Jin Song provided a detailed introduction to the economic situation and industrial advantages of Taizhou City, especially the development achievements in the fields of new energy, photovoltaics, and high-end manufacturing. He stated that the African market, especially the TEDA cooperation zone, offers abundant business opportunities, and hopes that both parties will strengthen information exchange and resource docking to carry out in-depth cooperation in textiles, precision manufacturing, chemicals, and new energy.

After the exchange meeting, the Taizhou Investment Promotion Center and the China-Egypt TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone signed a 'Friendly Cooperation Intent Agreement.' According to the agreement, both parties will carry out in-depth cooperation in information exchange, project promotion, and industrial cooperation based on the principle of mutual benefit, injecting new momentum into the economic development of both sides.

After the talks, the delegation also visited the Ailu Clean factory located in the SME park for an on-site inspection, gaining a detailed understanding of the company's production and operation status and development plans. The delegation highly recognized the park's complete infrastructure and the efficient operation of resident enterprises.

The visit of the Taizhou delegation and the signing of the 'Friendly Cooperation Intent Agreement' mark a new level of cooperation between Taizhou City and the TEDA cooperation zone, injecting new vitality into China-Egypt economic cooperation. In the future, both parties will work together to promote high-quality regional economic development with a broader vision and a more pragmatic attitude, achieving mutual benefit and win-win results.
