Tianjin to build Suez Economic and Trade Zone, Wen Jiabao awarded the license

On the morning of November 7, 2009, Egyptian local time, at the Prime Minister's Office of Egypt, Premier Wen Jiabao of the State Council and Egyptian Prime Minister Nazif jointly awarded the China-Egypt TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone (hereinafter referred to as the cooperation zone), marking the construction of the cooperation zone Phased results have been achieved. Ren Xuefeng, vice mayor of Tianjin, and some members of the municipal government delegation attended the awarding ceremony. The awarding ceremony was presided over by Minister of Commerce Chen Deming.

The prime ministers of the two countries came to the exhibition board of the long-term planning of the cooperation zone and the sand table of the starting area with great interest, and listened carefully to the report of Vice Mayor Ren Xuefeng. The Tianjin municipal party committee and municipal government attach great importance to the construction of the cooperation zone. since winning the bid for the national overseas cooperation zone in 2007, Tianjin has set up a leading group for the cooperation zone, formulated and issued policies to support enterprises to invest in the zone, and allocated local supporting funds. it has attracted China-Africa funds to participate in investment, and passed the confirmation assessment of the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Finance in July this year. Premier Wen Jiabao said that the two governments will establish a coordination mechanism to promote the construction of the cooperation zone.

At present, a breakthrough has been made in the construction of the cooperation zone. The cooperation zone is constructed by our city's China-Africa TEDA Investment Co., Ltd. Up to now, the 1 square kilometer starting area of the cooperation zone has completed infrastructure construction with a high standard, with a construction investment of more than 60 million US dollars. Built 50000 square meters of standard factory building, 44000 square meters of production and living facilities. There are 18 enterprises entering the zone, with a total registered capital of 0.18 billion US dollars and an actual investment of 70 million US dollars. China's small business park has been completed and put into use. China Textile Machinery Company's non-woven fabric project and Sichuan Honghua oil drilling rig project have been completed and put into operation. The transformer project of Xidian Group is being started. Shenyang Brilliance Automobile has signed a joint venture agreement to build a domestic brand automobile assembly plant in the park. The cooperation zone is playing a role in gathering Chinese enterprises to take advantage of Egypt's geographical advantages and jointly develop markets in North Africa, Southern Europe and the Middle East with Egypt.

The 6 square kilometers of the expansion area is undergoing business negotiations, and preliminary planning has been completed. Construction is planned to start next year. It is estimated that the construction investment will be 0.28 billion US dollars. After completion, it will attract investment of 1.2 billion US dollars, accommodate 150-180 enterprises, increase taxes by 1 billion US dollars, and provide 40000 employment opportunities. Long-term planning of 10 square kilometers of living area, serving the entire Egypt Suez Bay Northwest Special Economic Zone.

Ren Xuefeng, vice mayor of Tianjin, greeted Premier Wen Jiabao and his party at Cairo International Airport and attended a state banquet hosted by Egyptian Prime Minister Nazif to welcome Premier Wen. He also led a delegation of the Tianjin Municipal Government to listen to Premier Wen's wonderful speech at the headquarters of the Arab League. The Tianjin municipal government delegation also held the signing ceremony of the memorandum of strategic cooperation between the Beijing Branch of the Export-Import Bank of China and the China-Africa TEDA Investment Company, and the Beijing Branch of the Export-Import Bank of China arranged 6 billion yuan of credit to support the construction of the cooperation zone. The delegation inspected the construction of the cooperation zone on the spot and held a forum for enterprises entering the zone to solve the practical problems faced by enterprises on the spot.
