Under the concern of the two heads of state, the China-Egypt (and) TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone has gradually become a demonstration project linking China's joint construction of the "Belt and Road" initiative and Egypt's "Suez Canal Corridor Economic Belt. In January 2016, the two heads of state jointly unveiled the second phase of the China-Egypt (and) TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone.

 

 

As of June 2023, the China-Egypt (and) TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone has attracted a total of 145 companies to settle in, with actual investment exceeding US $1.7 billion, cumulative sales exceeding US $3.8 billion, and taxes and fees exceeding US $0.2 billion, directly solving more than 5000 jobs. People, driving about 50000 jobs.
