During the summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, the China-Egypt TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone (hereinafter referred to as the "TEDA Cooperation Zone") once again became the hot spot of China-Egypt cooperation and the focus of Chinese and foreign media.
On the afternoon of September 6, Beijing time, the signing ceremony of major Sino-Egyptian production capacity cooperation projects was held at the Wanda Vista Hotel in Beijing. Qu Defu, secretary of the party committee and chairman of TEDA Holdings, led a team to attend, and Egyptian Prime Minister Madbouli cordially received him. The two sides had an in-depth exchange of the latest development achievements and future plans of the TEDA cooperation zone. Chairman Qu Defu said that with the support of the two governments, especially the Suez Canal Economic Zone Administration, the TEDA Cooperation Zone has entered the track of strategic upgrading and high-quality development. After the next three years of hard work, it is expected that the TEDA Cooperation Zone will enter the zone as a whole. There will be 200 enterprises, and the cumulative investment attracted will reach 3.5 billion billion US dollars. Prime Minister Madbouli said that the TEDA Cooperation Zone is a model of Sino-Egyptian cooperation and the most successful park in Egypt. The achievements of the TEDA Cooperation Zone have benefited Egypt and the African continent. Prime Minister Madbouli hopes that the TEDA Cooperation Zone will further expand the scale of the park, play a more active role in promoting industrial localization and technology transfer, and attract more modern industries to invest in Egypt, especially electric vehicles, high-end equipment, new energy and enterprises in the fields of clean energy, so as to help the wide use of clean energy in Egypt and constantly stimulate the vitality of the Egyptian market.
On the day of the meeting, under the witness of Egyptian Prime Minister Madubli and Egypt's Suez Canal Economic Zone Administration Chairman Walid Jamaluddin, Egypt TEDA Special Zone Development Company and China Glass Holdings Co., Ltd., Shandong Binhua Group Co., Ltd., Wuxi Boda Xinneng Technology Co., Ltd., Shandong Tianyi Chemical Co., Ltd., Hainan Dongfang Dahui Co., Ltd., KAKS (Kateis) Investment Co., Ltd. The total agreed investment of the above-mentioned investment cooperation projects exceeds 1 billion US dollars, involving photovoltaic glass, float glass, chlor-alkali chemical industry, solar cells, bromine chemical industry, modified starch, home appliance supply chain and other industrial types. After being put into operation, it will create more than 3000 local jobs for Egypt.
