TEDA Cooperation Zone Wins BT100 Best International Business Award

On March 3, the largest award ceremony in Egypt and the Middle East "BT100" was held at the Four Seasons Hotel Nile Plaza in Egypt. More than 800 political and business leaders, including Egyptian Finance Minister Mohamed Maeet, Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr, Chairman of the Central Bank Board Tarek Amer, and Minister of Tourism Khaled Al-Anani, attended the event. TEDA Investment Company of Egypt (TEDA Egypt) was invited to participate.

This year's BT100 honors the top individuals and companies that made a positive impact on Egypt's economic activity in 2019, in recognition of their important and effective role in improving the Egyptian economy. In recognition of the outstanding contributions made by the China-Egypt TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone (TEDA Cooperation Zone) to promoting local industrial development, solving local employment, and promoting the sustainable development of Egypt, the jury decided to award the TEDA Cooperation Zone "Egypt's First Best International Business Award", in order to highly appreciate the outstanding achievements of the TEDA Cooperation Zone in the development of innovative and sustainable industrial real estate projects in Egypt. Radwon, president of TEDA, took over the hard-won trophy from Ashraf Salman, Egypt's former investment minister, on behalf of the park development company.
It is reported that it is not easy to win the BT100 award. The selection was first nominated by the BT100 evaluation committee, and then by former Egyptian investment ministers Osama Saleh and Ashraf Salman, former telecommunications minister Maged Osman, former stock exchange chairmen Maged Shawky and Khaled Salah, chairman of DMC news channel and editor-in-chief of Al-watan, Mahmoud Mosallam, president of OnTV station Albert Shafik, editor-in-chief of Youm7 Khaled Salah, chairman Mohamed Al-Baz, chairman of Al Door foundation, Mohamed, eleven judges, including Yossif Ayoub, editor-in-chief of Egypt Today magazine and Sout Al Omma newspaper, combined with the candidates' in-industry research reports, were voted on through an evaluation system.

TEDA cooperation zone this award, can be said to be well deserved. TEDA has been sharpening its sword for more than 10 years, adhering to the "city-building" experience of China's best city operators, and actively exploring in Egypt to build this park, which was unveiled twice by the leaders of China and Egypt, into a demonstration base for economic and trade cooperation between China and Egypt. Achieved good economic and social benefits, and was well received by the Chinese and Egyptian governments. In early 2020, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said in an interview with Pyramid: The development and business model of TEDA's cooperation location are highly compatible with the development strategy of the entire Suez Corridor. More than 60 enterprises in the region not only provide a large number of jobs for the local area, but also improve Egypt. The level of industrial manufacturing, the products produced are exported to Europe and Africa, while generating foreign exchange income, it also gives full play to the geographical advantages of Exodus connecting Asia, Africa and Europe.
