In the early morning of the 16th local time in Egypt, the third batch of anti-epidemic medical supplies assisted by the Chinese government to Egypt arrived at Cairo International Airport. This batch of materials includes 150000 N95 masks, 1 million medical surgical masks, 70000 medical protective clothing, 70000 disposable surgical gloves and 1000 temperature detectors, with a total weight of about 30 tons.

Chinese Ambassador to Egypt Liao Liqiang, Assistant Minister of Asian Affairs of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Hani Selim, and Assistant Minister of Health and Population of Egypt Mohamed Shaoji went to the airport to attend the handover ceremony.

This is the largest batch of anti-epidemic medical supplies provided by the Chinese government to Egypt so far. Prior to this, the Chinese government provided two batches of anti-epidemic aid to Egypt on April 16 and May 10 respectively.

Ambassador Liao Liqiang said in his speech: on the eve of the anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Egypt, the smooth handover of the third batch of anti-epidemic materials is a vivid interpretation of the friendship between the two peoples over the past 64 years.

Liao Liqiang said that at a critical moment in China's fight against the epidemic, Egyptian President Sisi called Chinese President Xi Jinping to express his condolences and support, and Egyptian Minister of Health and Population Halle visited China and brought anti-epidemic supplies. The Chinese nation is a grateful nation. Egypt is now faced with the urgent task of fighting the epidemic, and China is willing to provide support to Egypt within its capacity to fight the epidemic. So far, in addition to the three batches of aid materials from the Chinese government, some local governments, social organizations and enterprises in China have also provided assistance to Egypt. The total amount of various Chinese aid and donations exceeds 0.1 billion Egyptian pounds. Chinese and Egyptian health experts have held six video exchange meetings, and the mask production line for Sino-Egyptian cooperation has been put into production.

Liao Liqiang stressed that no matter how the international situation changes, China's determination to uphold the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind, firmly safeguard international public health security, and unite with its African brothers to fight the epidemic until the final victory is "unwavering". China is pleased to see that anti-epidemic cooperation has become a new driving force for the building of a community of common destiny between China and Egypt, and China will always stand firmly with Egypt until the epidemic is completely defeated.

In his speech, Egyptian Assistant Minister of Health and Population Mohamed Shaoji expressed his gratitude to the Chinese government for once again providing Egypt with anti-epidemic material assistance, and praised the rapid and efficient "China's anti-epidemic model". He said: "After the outbreak of the epidemic, China reduced the number of daily confirmed cases from thousands to dozens in a short period of time, eventually overcoming the impact of the epidemic and achieving successful control of the epidemic. On the other hand, China has also passed on its valuable experience in fighting the epidemic to the world, benefiting all countries, which is the 'China model '."

In an interview with reporters, Assistant Minister for Asian Affairs of the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, Hani Selim, said, "China has extended a helping hand to many countries in the world, including Egypt, and has shown China's great power in this special period.
